I Have Returned

April 2020 was my last post. Holy moly. I should have kept the blog going a bit better.

I did have the Covids around that time and ever since then my energy levels have dropped massively. I have also been spending a lot of time working on my stream. https://www.twitch.tv/breazer_ if you are interested.

I have decided to leave my 13th century stuff for a while and skip forward to 14th century with a large amount of Claymore Castings. those miniatures are absolutely fantastic. Besides that I have a lot of Perry miniatures that I havent put to good use yet. Once again I am just going to go for a credible medieval feel without trying to make actual excisting banners. It may happen that I use some that were actual used banners but this is either by accident, because I like the design or because I enjoy the story behind the real person carrying them in history. I converted some Perry miniatures to start this project of. Just one unit to see what I can do and if I like this project as much as I think I do. So far no dissapointments and here is the unit in a picture i dubbed "The Hesitant".

I tried to varnish them after I took the picture and I believe I hit them a bit too hard. They have become somewhat glossy which is something I tried to avoid with a mat varnish. It isnt a very big bother on the table and I personally don't find it a disaster on this unit. I will however be a lot more careful with it in the future.

Forest Patrol

Today I took a picture with some models I have finished some time ago and I wanted to share the result. A few men scouting the forest.

Foot Serjeants

I have been playing the yellow piece in most of the boardgames that I play for a long time now. Ironically I have never owned an army of any kind that was yellow. I thought this would be a good moment to add some yellow stuff to this too because of the imperial banner and all. For my first unit of foot serjeants I thought it would be fun to have this unit from a town that lies on the lands of my leader (him being a noble and all). I don't really know how that would work if say there were multiple towns and say this one wasnt governed by a lord but more something that you would call an Exarch. A sheriff of some sort. I'll just roll with it and create the unit for that later. These are some drummed up poor souls that get to fight in that army.

Names follow later as that works better for me. I really like the guy with the trumpet.

Knights

It has been quiet here for a while. I wasn't idle though, I just didn't have the time to take decent pictures yet. So now that I did I will roll out a bunch of updates faster.

One of the things I struggle with a lot when it comes to miniatures is that I have the tendency to over compensate and I often don't get to start things or I redo them. Even though I really enjoy creating entirely new things I can get stuck on simple things such as shield designs or a flag. I am slowly learning how to deal with this but here and there I get to go back and redo a few things.

This time my leader had to suffer and I made a different model for him that looks very similar. He is still nameless but I figured I'll get back to it once I finished all my models for this project.

I did not get round to finishing his base yet but I'm sure that will happen soon.

I also turned one of his mounted brothers blue's into reds.

This guy hasn't changed but I took some better pictures of him.

This guy is new.

And finally the banner carrier that goes with my leader. I stole the imagery of Stephen of Blois because I'm really interested in the Anarchy, Except I'm using one centaur instead of three. I also changed the field from one red field to a split red and white field but it's a small homage I guess.

This is them all together so far. One guy still missing but he will join soon.

The Solace Campaign

Hey everyone,

Some time ago I managed to convince a good friend to finally play a game with me. We decided on late 15th century medieval forces and we will use the plastic perry collection.

I was happy to start a new project with so many plastics to mix and mash to my hearts desire.

I named this my Solace Campaign because I am at a bit of a stand still in my life right now. There are probably a few people that would get upset by me calling it this. The thing is that I am fighting the black fog of depression. What has managed to keep this at bay for a while now is making progress with my miniature projects. up until now this seems to be a thing that lowers that pressure for me and I felt it would be a good name for a project that has no significant background besides a style choice.  I really hope to build something amazing here and hopefully as I am working on this I can compare the progress of the army to me getting better.

We decided to go with Lion Rampant as ruleset. My models will have a strong German vibe but as I don't know too much about the time I am allowing myself full creative freedom and mainly let myself be inspired by it.

So far I have finished my leader and two of his men at arms.

One More Shiny Post

Hey everyone. I know I said that I wouldn't do this too often. Although I get a lot of positive feedback on this. There has been a development in the form of me finding an opponent willing to play medieval battles with me. We did decide to go with the perry miniatures of the late 15th century.

So I have decided to put my attention on that to make swift progress.

I still have a few things I want to show you from the other project that I will put on hold for a bit.

Without trying to be too mysterious or anything. I present you with some more pictures of things that are almost done.

Something To Look At

I'm usually not in the habit of posting things that aren't quite done yet. I tend to post full or half units first. But over the past few weeks I've managed to spend a lot of time with my miniatures and a lot of half finished stuff got made. I love to create some scenic pictures with them. I really loved what came out and I thought I'd share that here already.

I will make sure to get some pictures of all the finished stuff to post here properly.

First off my model of Jean D'arc. I named her Amelia since I dont really hold to any actual characters. She is seen here leading her men to the battlefront.

Cavalry moving in on the enemy.

Reinforcements

Hey there.

Some small update on some things I have been working on for my medieval army. It seems that is the only thing I feel I am allowed to work on until there stands at least some kind of finished force. Which is rapidly reaching it's goal. Well not really because I think this will never be really done.

Anyway.

Here are some new archers and a knight.

Archers

Hey there everyone.

I finished some Archers I wanted to share with you.

I also went ahead and set the men at arms in some terrain just to see what it looks like. I thought it would be fun to share.

Men At Arms

Hey there,

It has been a while since I updated this blog. I have not been idle but trying to keep things a little bit more consistent here. So I will give you my most recent update for this wonderful army that is slowly coming together.

These are my men at arms on foot.

Let's Start A New Year With A New Force

I've decided to start a new army for this year. I am not sure when it will be done but I have mapped out some things to work towards. I will be using Lion Rampant as ruleset. I know I have done things like this in the past and diverted and just made random units. I will try to work towards finishing this project a lot better this time around.

These are the first mounted men at arms led by their lord "Vaneer Westmark".
Tell me what you think.

The Goods

Hey everyone,

I have another update for you. I made a small cart for the escort missions and took some pictures to go with it.
