Hey there.
I have been sick for a while now but I finally managed some painting again! I finished the Raimund of Toulouse miniature and I knew I just had to use him for a picture. I dubbed it "Dex Aie" after the Norman battlecry (I looked it up, but I'm sure someone will tell me I'm wrong soon enough) . I hope you like it.

On The Grind
Hey there everyone,
With the showing results I have really been enjoying working on these armies. I have been very motivated to round these forces out. At least the basis because I don't think I can ever actually finish these armies. I've talked about my dream of having these forces done and just be able to expand on them in all calm. I have some great ideas for future units but I will finish these first.
Back to when I first started this project. The command for this unit are unaltered miniatures except for the base. The rest of the unit is entirely new miniatures. I really love the footsore miniatures but I prefer the spears upright pose. I just love the sight of all those spears lined up. I think they still look dynamic.
The next one is also 2 altered miniatures. I made some knights to lead my red force in to battle. I wasn't too pleased with them in the end. Mainly because it didn't look like they were really part of the same army. I was also not too happy with the lack of head protection my leader had. I think it is a warhammer thing to give unit commanders a different weapon and a bare head to make them stand out. I do think it is nice to add a bit of character this way so I will continue to do so. I swapped out his bare head for a chainmailed head that I gave a little beard. He also got a name so Robert the Broken Hearted knows who he is facing. I named him Renault Bourdillon.
The rest of the unit is still being worked on.
And finally a fun little distraction. I have been asking some of my friends what if they got to choose it their coat of arms would look like. I figured if I like what they came up with I could maybe build a miniature to devote to it and add them to units swapping out some regular figures or a command. One friend had this great idea and I ran with it. There is a whole story behind his name that probably doesn't make too much sense to explain. You'll just have to take my word for it that it's cool.
This is Robert le Marteau
Alright, on to finishing the next bunch!

New Troops Arrive
Hey there friends,
The last couple of weeks I have been working hard on picking up my medievals project. I really enjoy coming back to this with new ideas each time.
My dream has always been to have this basic set up of two armies done and to just be able to expand on them with whatever I feel like. I am closing in on this now and I have never been more motivated to get there. Next to that I have been trying out new things to make my miniatures look more interesting. It is sometimes really tedious to have to kitbash everything but it also offers great options to try out certain things.
I have half of the white men at arms done with the speartip as weapon. They will all be carrying handweapons and shield. Most of them will be swords because I think its a very iconic weapon for medieval times. I think it should be featured a lot in my armies.
This is a small taste I suppose of what that "whatever I like" looks like. A unit with no set allegiance (like the red or the blue side)
I can just pick these up and field them on either side and make the armies a bit brighter and varried.
That brings me to my next unit.
They are an extension of the yellow knight I have painted before. He still lacks a unit but I really like his colours. Fun fact I always pick yellow as my go to colour in boardgames but I have never painted a yellow army before. Maybe this is a step in the right direction.

Finally I worked on the blue knights. Robert the Broken Hearted's own unit. I wasn't happy with them before and I think these look a lot better.
More cool stuff on the way as I try to make finish this before the victrix vikings come out.

Cold Steel
Hey there everyone,
I have been saving this picture for a while now hoping I'd have some time to create a few more shots that would match this one in some kind of series. I've not been able to really land the idea in a result I'm happy with. I will keep trying of course but since I am moving soon I figured I would post it already.
It is one of those pictures that grew somewhat organically. I worked out where everything was supposed to go as I was looking through the lens and making everything match and work out. Those are the most fun to do because you can really make something great step by step.
This picture also features several of the yeomen I've been working on and that are now almost finished.
I named it: Cold Steel
This is one of my absolute favorites so far. Together with Be Without Fear and Lionheart.

The Lost Ones Part III
As I expected I went kind of on a spree once all the things I needed for the picture arrived.
I quickly finished all the miniatures.
I quickly finished all the miniatures.
And then I spend the entire morning working on the final picture.

The Lost Ones Part I
I am currently working on a new picture involving a bunch of saxon warriors lost in a snowy forest. Since I usually take pictures of miniatures that I am likely to use in one of my games and this is somewhat of an exception I thought it would maybe be nice to take you on a little journey building up to this picture.
Over the past 2 years I have been collecting several cool looking warriors from Footsore Miniatures. I really like their miniatures and I think Bill Thornhills sculpts are very characterful. I got the idea to make something like this because of all the furrs these warriors wear.
I imagined them walking through a dense forest that was covered in snow. Them having lost their way and perhaps finding themselves behind enemy lines. They would try to find out where they were and tread carefully not to get caught by the enemy.
These are the miniatures I plan on painting. I have also ordered some snowy landscape to dress up the picture which should arrive tomorrow.
Things will likely move quickly once I get going with this.

Stand Fast
Before I continue with the orcs again I wanted to take a cool picture of some of my forces. I have been wanting to go on but just haven't found the time. The Middle Earth SBG also took some more of my attention at this point.
For now enjoy! I named this one "Stand Fast"

Advancing
Advancing the project that is. I have just finished painting my second unit of spearmen. Next to that I also finished a few cool miniatures that hold banners. You can never have enough banners. The whole bunch finished made me able to take take picture above.
Here is the first half of the new unit
And the second half.
And the entire unit.
And a footknight and the two new banner carriers.

Lionheart
Hey everyone.
The picture project went faster than finishing the next unit. I got really excited when this miniature came in today and I sat down and finished it so I could do the picture I had planned for him.
I called this one, Lionheart. I hope you like it.

Be Without Fear
Hey Everyone, I got me the wargames illustrated miniature and thought he would look cool in a picture.
These are the miniatures I finished the same day as I took the picture. They also have the new basing style like the miniatures in the previous post.

The New Models
Hey everyone,
I've been working on more miniatures and pictures and have in the meanwhile started a facebook page where you can follow my work too. I will just be posting cool pictures there though. Not so much the non scenery pics.
These are the miniatures you could also see in the previous picture. They are part of a new force that is kind of a fresh start where i'm trying out some new things (like a new basing style) and perhaps less of a united colour scheme. Over time I will try to haul some of the already finished miniatures over. Next to this I will be working on more cool themed pictures in the future.
This is the lord with the first spearmen for the next unit. All the bases will be finished at a later stage.
The first six men at arms wth spears.

We March At Dawn
Hey everyone,
It has been a while since I have posted something. That has everything to do with a lot of things going on in the non hobby world. And to make matters a little worse I have decided to let things that I was working on lie for a bit and work on this first. This will be a new force that I have carefully planned out and am slowly working towards finishing. I have finished the first few mini's for it and when I can find the motivation I will make some pictures of them in a better set up. To compensate I did make this set up of the new army marching to war. I hope you enjoy.
