Hello everyone,

I finished one of the guardsmen. I named him Toms the flagbearer.

Miniature update I

The Title already said it a bit (see what I did there?). This will be a rather small update compared to the others. But no worries the future holds great things. I got a new camera today and I am absolutely in love with it. I tried it out on a few mini's I'm currently working on.

First is the first of the Skitarii that I finished. It still needs basing but I'm waiting for some basing materials for it.

Second is a group of Guardsmen that are making a last stand (or are they?) I am working on a little campaign and they will have a nice role in there. Any progress will of course feature here. The last couple of days I did not have a camera at my disposal but I could not wait to start painting these mini's. So I started already but I do not want to show you half work so I gave the picture a big blue filter. These will be the first and likely the will get two more friends, so stay tuned!

Men from Mars

Hello everyone,

With a new blog go new models. Games Workshop just released the wonderful Skitarii range. The men from Mars. Or post-humans as Games Workshop likes to refer to them. I immediately got some great ideas. Ever since the rules allow to combine armies so that they can form awesome and unique combinations I have been playing with the idea of finally getting detachments of all the things that I find very attractive models and just give them a bit of body so they can be fielded next to another of such detachments to form one great looking army.

I must say I am generally a very friendly player, I rather field an army that I think looks good or has fun units in it than it being really strong and able to table my opponent in three turns. This does mean however that I lose most of my games. I don't really care so much about that as long as I get to kill at least something. If something weird happens during the game no matter if it is my own units blowing up I am generally already very pleased about the game because it will make for a nice little story. It's more about having fun than anything else really.

With that said I noticed how strong the Skitarii were and that usually turns it off for me a bit. But I love the 40k universe and the imperium most of all so I decided I would allow myself to have some stronger things for once. After all it would only be a detachment and so it would probably give my normal forces a bit of a back up.

One of the ideas I've been playing with are the vostroyans and I know pretty much nothing about Astra Militarum.

So I mainly just stuffed together what I like in one army and I choose one unit that I think will make a nice transition with the Adeptus Mechanicum. So the Skitarii actually came at the right time to combine the two. But before I get ahead of myself I first want to finish some Skitarii. I already built the first five rangers and am about to start painting them.

I hope you like them and as always will tell me what you think.

Welcome to my new hobby home.

Hello all readers out there. My name is Ralf but on the internet I go by Breazer. I've been active on several forums already so I figured I'd just keep the name. I am a great fan of the wargaming hobby. Although I don't actually get to play all that much I do really enjoy building, converting and painting my models and setting them up in great homecrafted scenes and take lovely shots of them for your viewing pleasure.

I've been working on the hobby for about 7 years. I've known about and own models for far longer but I really started and have ever since been trying to improve about 7 years ago. The most important lesson I've learned in all that time is that you can't do things half-hearted or try to save on your execution so since some years I have been trying to finish my projects all to the full extend. You can imagine I have quite a bit of stuff done already in all that time and to give you a good idea of what it is I collect and occasionally play with I have gathered my best looking pictures and collected them below.

It is mainly Citadel miniatures and nowadays mostly warhammer 40.000 but recently I started playing SAGA as well and I might give you guys a bit of a look into that venture as well. It is very likely that I will try to use this blog to get projects done and to stick with them until they are done and then move on to the next. It allows me a bit to show you what is done already and to order things a bit. After all I am on a mission to finish my forces and to finally get to that place where I can just buy a set and not have to worry about all the models that are still staring me in the face looking all sad because they don't have more colour. I guess you will likely not be reading this any more by this time so I will skip on ahead to the pictures.

I hope this is enough for you to stick around.
