More Trouble On The Waters

Ahoy everyone,

I have finished some more models for Rum and Bones.
I played a game last weekend and this team played so nicely I decided to just get them done first.

This be Capt'n Daniel Pale.

And the "Brute" of the party is "Not so noble" Baston.

I hope you like them and will tell me what you think.

So Tiny!

Hey Everyone,

I have not been very productive lately. I wish I was more productive but I am lacking some supplies and my local hobby store hasn't been open much lately. I hope I can pick up some stuff coming week and get cracking on more models.

What I did finish were these Rum & Bones mini's. I have also been playing the game several times and I am starting to get the hang of it and I really love it. It's great, diverse and so full of character. It is going to feel so good to play this fully painted.

Anyway. I finished these Bosuns (for those of you that don't know what they do, they are basic crew but they boost the other crew members. You get 6 of the same models). 3 of them are done but I just quickly took some snapshots and later saw that they weren't all that great. Also I'm a bit embarassed because these are so tiny and it looks like I have lost 4 years of skill all of a sudden.
And Mad Ivan is done too(This is one of the heroes, in the game you get 5 with each a different class). I made his base yellow to show his class and so he stands out between all the deckhands later on (You put a little cap around the base to show on what team he is). I redid his skin after the earlier picture. Most of these mini's are a whole new journey for me and I'm discovering new tricks for painting with each model, so bare with me here :).

This is Ivan in the artwork.

I will take a few better pictures when I have finished some more.

I hope you will tell me what you think in the comments or just say hi!
Stay tuned.

Avast Ye!

Hey everyone,

Since I finally got the game I have had some time to play rum & bones. I have to say I love the game. It's exciting to the end. It does take a little longer than the 40mins the box suggests but I personally do not mind.
The miniatures are characterful and I love the cartoony style. The intention of the game is to get 6 points. Each of the 5 objectives is worth 2 points and so are the sea creatures that come from the depths to destroy as much of your guys as possible. Your crew just marches forward hitting the things in front of them and with your heroes you have to make the difference.

There is one thing though. Here is a small comparison shot of the warhammer models I am used to painting and the different size with the rum and bones miniatures.

As you can see they are a lot smaller and It is quite a challenge to make them look good enough. I'm not too pleased with the level of detail I have been able to manage so far.

I am working on new things over here and will keep you posted on my progress.
Let me know what you think in the comments below.

Cure Against Scurvy

Hey everyone,

I waited for this for quite some time but it finally arrived and I am thrilled.
Rum & Bones is here!

This is a MOBA-style boardgame by coolmini. I love the idea of this and supported the kickstarter and got all these extra goodies for it. These are over 100 extra models to paint. So if you thought with all the warhammer models I didn't have enough to keep me busy I now have these to switch them around with.

I will post the occasional pirate now too as I go along. I will likely just pick them up now and again and do some work on these guys. It will be glorious guys!

Appeasing The Blood God

Hey everyone,

I have stopped buying models for this year. Whoooh! That is a big thing to say. I honoustly think that I have enough to last me the rest of the year if not longer. "But Breaz, what can we expect still then?" I hear you ask.

Well A lot of Khorne stuff still. I think I compiled my ideal warband for them. All you have seen so far is a nice start for it but it still needs a bit more.
At the head of this army is the bringer of glory herself, Valkia the bloody. I haven't gotten around to her yet.

Another thing I've been meaning to finish are the rest of the skullreapers. They are currently six. I posted one of them already.
I am currently working on two units of blood warriors. One unit will carry the gorefists and the other blood axes. Below the first two gorefist guys that are done.

These are the axemen.  I really love these guys.
I have 10 left for a cool unit with gorefists that will also get a standard. For now I'm content with just these two and I like to have something new to build in the future.

I have made another hero for them too. He can use the khorne herald rules.

I'm working on converting a nice korgorath. I'll still add the blood secrator, some flesh hounds and to round things off I will add some forsaken.
And that will be my khorne warband. The only thing that is still on my wishlist is the slaughterbrute but he can wait until somewhere next year.

I hope this will keep you coming back to see how I'm progressing. Please leave a comment to tell me what you think.
